Wii fit yoga for pregnancy?
I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and decided i should do some sort of exercise instead of just sitting on the couch. I do plenty of walking but i am loving the wii fit yoga at the moment.
i was just curious what yoga positions on the wii fit i should avoid or that are particularly good for pregnancy.
or if anybody knows of ANY type of exercise to keep my body fit and strong so i can bounce back quicker after bub is born
thanks
As long as your doctor says it’s okay to exercise you can do whatever you want. Keep in mind that you should always be able to keep up a conversation. If you can’t, slow down so you don’t over exert yourself. Swimming is EXCELLENT for labor and getting your body back. I never got into yoga, but I hear it’s really good as well. And of course walking (and for now jogging or running) is great. If you can do some light weight training that’ll be even better because of course muscle burns the extra fat quicker and when you’re more muscular you skin tends to be more elastic. Also eating a lot of colorful fruits and veggies, drinking plenty of cold water and getting in plenty of calcium are all great ways to get your body ready to bounce back. I’ve barely gained any weight with this pregnancy just because I’ve been eating right and going for walks/jogs. I’ve actually recently stopped the jogging and am only running because the jogging caused me to get a few contractions the other day and it was severely painful. I’m only 30w5d so I gave it up.

I heard you should avoid certain yoga poses while TTC/pregnancy – is this true?
I’m taking yoga 2x per week (beginner) and I’ve been TTC for 11 cycles (started yoga 2 months ago). I heard you should avoid certain poses while TTC? Is this true? Which ones? How do I avoid them during class so that my co-workers don’t know I’m TTC/early pregnancy?
Heard this on various websites – getting mixed messages
Where did you hear that? I have never heard anything like that. If anything, doing yoga and exercising will help you, not hurt you. I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Best of luck!

Exercises – Yoga – etc. at 7 1/2 mo Prego need some techniques!?
I am a fairly active individual but I really don’t exercise, I haven’t ever needed to. I have been a ballet dancer since I was 3 years old and have maintained the flexibility and body type my entire life since (28 yrs. old).
I am wanting to learn some exercises and appropriate stretching for my level of pregnancy. I am still fairly small for being 31 wks along so I haven’t had any issues with mobility or anything.
I have tried looking for Yoga classes and such – but I think I would feel more comfortable doing them on my own. A description or a link to where i can get the techniques would be helpful!
There are a lot of good pregnancy videos/DVDs out there. Check them out on Amazon.com and pay attention to the ratings at the bottom of each to see which one women like best. I took a pregnancy yoga class throughout my second and early in my third trimester, and it does help. They say it will help with labor and delivery, as well, since you’re working on the areas that will need to “give” when you give birth.
Prenatal Yoga Classes: Pregnancy Yoga Exercises for Pregnant Women (Swollen Legs Exercise)
The best thing about this prenatal yoga program is that there is a model for each trimester. Instructor Shiva Rea demonstrates each of the stretches and exercises for the first trimester, and two pregnant women show modifications for the second and third trimesters (they’re even dressed in different colors for easy reference). This removes the self-doubt home-exercisers often have about the s…

Yoga during pregnancy?
I have no prenatal yoga class in my area, so I started a yoga class once or twice times week. I told my teacher that I'm 5 months pregnant, but she does not seem to understand about what poses the most or which are to be avoided during pregnancy. If anyone has any I would appreciate information. I'm still learning the names of the poses, so even a good site with images of what I can do would be great! Thanks!
This site should help you: Good luck http://www.abc-of-yoga.com/yoga-and-health/yoga-for-pregnancy.asp

mucus – pregnancy?
Wife is at 35 weeks now and the other night, the mucus thingy dislodged. Reading the internet, it says that labour can commence anytime – like hour day or week. Ive been a nervous wreck but trying to keep calm for my wifes sake. What is the longest time a woman has had to wait till labour commenced. Although nervous the two of us are very excited!! Have went to midwife classes but this hasnt been covered yet – just breathing and relaxation so far – which was funny may i add as a father to be. ; – )
I had my son at 36 wks and my mucus plug came out like a day or two before, I didn’t make to much of it and I was talking to my friend the night before I had him and I told her she was all freaking out (she has 3 kids) before I we hung up joking around she’s like call me if you go into labor even if it’s in the middle of the night, the next morning I felt a really warm sensation when I looked down my water had broke so I called my friend like she asked needless to say two hrs later he was born. Everything happened so quickly so just be prepared and it sounds like you have it all under control Good luck and Congrats Daddy!!
