As the title suggests, this product is specifically for moms wanting to get fit.  Literally all aspects of losing fat and getting fit are covered – and the best part is that it is written specifically for busy moms.  The material is presented in a manner both chatty and educational – it’s kind of like having a friendly conversation with a close friend that happens to be a fitness expert (with the added benefit of being able to refresh your understanding of the matter at any given time, simply by scrolling back to the relevant section!)

The tone of the book presents a welcome contrast to the other fitness products so freely available elsewhere on the Net: it’s friendly, understanding of the unique situations moms face, informative, and above all, commonsensical. No unrealistic recommendations, 2 hour workouts, or zero-carb diets here: it doesn’t take long to see that this lady knows what she’s talking about when it comes to mom’s lifestyles (and did I mention she’s a mom too?)

What’s Actually Included?

There’s a quick section on getting started and goal setting along with some morale-boosting advice on how to stay on track throughout the program, and then it’s straight into an action plan to get you started on the path to burning baby fat and getting your body back.

The Supportive Nutrition Plan is next – this is particularly helpful! Every conceivable nutrition issue is covered, from how often you should eat to what you should keep in your pantry. And on top of that, it includes a ‘Create a Menu Planner’ to guide you in creating every meal to support your success.

Next, the Fit Yummy Mummy fat loss workouts are covered, but not without easy to follow explanations of the why’s and the how’s for every part of the workout program.   The workout plan even offers four different formats that you can plug into your lifestyle, something not found in any of the cookie cutter fat loss programs on the market.  My favorite part of the workout section is that regardless of your exercise (or lack of exercise) background, there is a workout designed specifically for you.  And no matter what you fitness level is, none of the workout programs require more than 90 minutes a week.

Just Because It’s Detailed Doesn’t Mean It’s Confusing

Sound overwhelming? It’s actually very user-friendly. Not only is this e-book packed with sound practical advice and the whole thing is laid out in a very logical and easy-to-understand format, but it comes with a Quick Start Guide to make sure you start acting (and seeing results) fast.  The tone of Fit Yummy Mummy light and non-threatening (no scientific terminology here!) and it proceeds in a logical manner from step to step, with plenty of photos and descriptions to ensure that you are doing everything right.

Troubleshooting

In my opinion, one of the best parts: a follow up e-mail coaching series from the author  that keeps you on track, gives you daily fitness tips and even healthy recipes.  While most moms have the best of intentions, staying on track is tough.  This follow up e-mail coaching series is the perfect solution.


The Verdict

Regaining their pre-pregnancy body is a daunting task for most moms, but the author’s personal experience and hands on work with over 250 moms is pretty reassuring; and she certainly knows how to break it down for even the most exercise illiterate. In addition to the main features detailed above, there are plenty of valuable extras included to make getting your pre-baby body back as easy as possible: checklists, do’s and don’ts, printable workout sheets, even ready to follow meal plans!

Tips for healthy eating and exercise during pregnancy?

Hi all, I am almost 10 weeks pregnant and very difficult to achieve in vegetalbles food yet. It seems to be constantly want pasta! Does anybody have tips on how to make sure you keep the vegetables in my daily diet? Recipes, etc? Also walking the best exercise during pregnancy there are others I can do? Should I wait for the second quarter (exhausted atm) or forced me to further action sooner than later? Thanks in advance Baby dust to all:)

Try to cut some raw vegetables (peppers, carrots, celery) and soaking in a delicious bath a great way to get vegetables in. The pasta is good for you with the carbohydrates, not the worst thing to eat at all! I think walking is the best exercise. I felt very bad in my first quarter, but walked around the neighborhood every day in my second and third trimesters. I had a quality and cheap pregnancy and my weight has dropped to pre-baby of four months after I had my baby, without dieting at all, more walking. I asked my gynecologist if I have to force me to walk when I feel good and she said no, when not feeling well during the first quarter, the best thing is rest, not your tired body. Just pick up your foot if you feel better. Good luck and congratulations!

First, to know how long your menstrual cycles are, track them on the calendar for 2 or 3 months. Your menstrual cycle starts with the day your period starts and stops the day before your next period starts. If you are not sure the number of days in your menstrual cycle, you can use 28 days. This is the normal length of a menstrual cycle.

In order for you to get pregnant, you should have sex before you ovulate, at least two or three days before ovulation — those will be your most fertile days.

How will you know when you’re going to ovulate? There are many methods available, ovulation predictor kits or tracking your basal body temperature. Research states that the best time for intercourse is the day you notice the most fertile cervical mucus. Fertile cervical mucus is cervical discharge that looks like egg-white and usually appears on the days before ovulation. This will be the time you are most likely to get pregnant.

Regardless of what day ovulation happens, pregnancy is more likely to occur if you have sex on a day when fertile cervical mucus is present. This could be because cervical mucus helps the sperm survive and move along.

Why waiting for Ovulation isn’t the Greatest Idea

We get so preoccupied with having sex at exactly the right time, we don’t have sex at other times during the cycle. Then sex begins to feel like a chore, becoming less about love and having a connection with your partner. This can put a real strain on a relationship.

There are also other reasons not to wait that pertain to fertility itself.

If you try to have sex only when you are ovulating, you are more likely to not get pregnant. If you are just waiting around for ovulation signs, you might miss them or they might occur when you can’t have sex at the time.

Sex during six days prior to ovulation does have the possibility of you getting pregnant. If you are going to have sex three or four times a week, regardless of your fertility signs, You’re probably going to have sex at least once during this six day period. This will be a lot less stressful than trying to time sex on a few certain days.

Also if you’ve waited to have sex until have signs of ovulation, and you have not had sex for several days, the sperm your partner has might not be as fertile. You might be at your most fertile time, but he won’t be at his peak time.

Braunsweiger and peanut butter or how about sweet and sour chicken and refried beans? Unless you are under attack by mid-pregnancy flavor cravings,it’s better to stick with the flavor pairings that you already know and love.

Avoid wet soggy leftovers if possible

While this may seem like a no brainer, cold items can fool you. Even a mildly moist item may leak fluid when heated.

Experimenting with pizza toppings is always fun

It is always fun to experiment with pizza toppings to create new pizza recipes. Try changing your cheese combinations; who is up for an asiago/fontina blend over beef and broccoli leftovers? Maybe add a little cheddar, brie, or chabichou du poitou to your mozzarella topping to spice things up a bit.

Using leftovers on pizza can be a fun, fast, easy way to enjoy the original meal a second time, not to mention that it will free up room in the fridge.
