has anyone had a healthy pregnancy after a miscarraige?
hello well i found out im pregnant again! but im scared to death……i had a miscarraige on the 24th of april this year. i was 9 weeks and had to have a D&C. i was told i could start trying just two weeks after i had the surgery but waited. now im scared im going to have another miscarriage. has anyone here had a healthy pregnancy after a misacarriage?
Hi,
I have not personally had a miscarriage but in my thirteen years as a Labor Nurse I have seen tons, hundreds, LOTS of women with successful pregnancies after miscarriages. It depends on the cause of the miscarriage what your chances really are, but alot of times we dont know why. Good Luck to you! Just get really good prenatal care and be as healthy as you can be

Can I Develop Healthy Eating Habits During Pregnancy?
Learning you’re expecting a baby is fantastic news for you, your family and friends. Everybody has some opinion regarding what you should do and how you should do them while you experience the adventure of your pregnancy. Getting advice is great but knowing precisely what is occurring in your body is much better. The understanding you will gain together with any action you take will help you take control as well as be certain that you’re supplying your baby with exactly everything it needs in order to develop into a healthy newborn baby. Developing nutritionally healthy eating habits while pregnant gives your unborn child the perfect opportunity to come into their little world as healthy as possible.
Whenever considering what you eat now and what you should be eating, it is advisable to have in the back of your mind the concept that anything you digest will be either good for your pregnancy or bad. And though old habits die hard with every bite of food you’re taking and everything you drink, for the following several months, will have a huge impact on the overall health of your newborn baby. When contemplatingto healthy eating during pregnancy, it is not just about eating things that aren’t good for your body, it is also about not eating the many things that your body needs at this time. Eating healthy foods during pregnancy makes the process go much smoother, diminishes a lot of your food cravings and certainly provides your baby’s body and yours with the nutrients, nutritional vitamins, amino acid proteins and minerals necessary for each of you.
When you’re expecting it’s better to consume 5 to 6 little meals each day instead of three normal size meals that you are accustomed to, because your body needs consistent replenishment of the many nourishing substances, minerals and vitamins that are being used while your child develops. It is also much easier to digest smaller meals throughout the day than 3 average size larger meals, enabling you the ability to save up the extra energy required when eating a large amount of food. If it appears like it is difficult to have to plan on 5 to 6 different meals to eat each day you certainly can make extra food for dinner to have a couple of times the next day, including at breakfast time. This might appear to be much more food than you think you need, however the reverse holds true. In developing healthy recipes while pregnant, it is best to remember that an average size woman while she’s within the primary trimester, standing 5’4″ in height and weighing between 125 lbs. and 155 pounds requires about 2000 to 2400 cal per day, if she is active and exercise no more than 30 minutes every 24 hours. Needless to say, as you shift along through the months of your pregnancy into the next trimesters your whole body will require more because your baby will be getting larger.
When contemplating wholesome diet habits during pregnancy and planning your menu, always consider building this diet using the approved food pyramid during your pregnancy. Making sure an average day of eating decisions includes eating some thing from every food group.
Keep in mind that the development of healthy and balanced eating habits during your pregnancy beginning right this moment, will ensure you are helping your baby with its development, where to continue eating an unhealthy diet certainly can not.

I need some recommendations on pre-pregnancy books…?
something with information on nutrition and getting pregnant and anything else that is helpful
In addition to the above, which I also really like, the book “Taking Charge of Your Fertility” by Toni Weschler takes so much of the mystery out of getting pregnant (and other women’s health issues).

Pregnancy Healthy Eating – Do You Care For It Ever?
It is most important that you pay special care for pregnancy healthy eating, because knowing what to eat during pregnancy can add better things for you. You are eating healthy diet means your baby is also getting healthy during your pregnancy. You have to manage your pregnancy by eating healthy diet, and if necessary nutritious diet with multivitamin or prenatal vitamin as prescribed by your doctor. If you are already having a constant care for pregnancy and healthy eating, you need to make only a few changes in your menu to compensate your needs. It is more important to care what you are eating than how much. What you eat right before and during your pregnancy can affect the health of your growing baby.
No doubt, you need nutrition during pregnancy to keep you and your baby healthy. But, it doesn’t mean that you are to double the intake quantity of food. An extra calorie may be sufficient to add with your usual intake of food. Care should be given to get the required amount of vitamins, proteins and other minerals. Low calorie diets will affect the baby leading to mental retardation. According to research report of American Dietetic Association, a woman with early signs of pregnancy needs only an extra 300 calories per day more than what she was taking before pregnancy.
*Fruits and vegetables: Fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and minerals are the best natural foods for eating during pregnancy. Vitamin C is needed to build healthy gums and tissues. It also helps in healing wounds. Fruits like Strawberries, melons, oranges, papaya and tomatoes are good for energy. Eating leafy greens, cabbage and broccoli as much as you can with broken servings is good for bones. Vitamin A can be had from dark green vegetables as supplement nutrients. You should also consume fruits and vegetables with calcium and fiber content which can be had from dried beans, peas, nuts and seeds as salads. You may have these as side dish every time whenever you have meal.
*Grains and Cereals: You have to mind the pregnancy healthy eating guidelines. Eating whole grain products and cereals with iron source and fiber is always good. Cereals rich in folic acid build healthy tissues and prevent most of the birth defects.
*Dairy products: Calcium is essential which can be had from dairy products like cheese and yogurt with low-fat or non-fat. Also, you may have direct milk with low-fat or non-fat content. Dairy products are rich sources of Vitamin A, B and D. You know Vitamin A builds your body and fights against infection by increasing immunity power for the growing baby.
*Meat and fish: When you are carrying your growing baby, you have to consume 50 to 80 grams of protein every day. Protein is rich in cooked lean meat, fish or poultry. Protein is also rich in eggs, dried beans and peas which are available everywhere. But, it is not good to take protein contents in increased size daily.
Take care to have some mild walking exercise along with your pregnancy healthy eating.

Exercise and Pregnancy
Pregnancy is NOT the time to sit around, lazily awaiting the arrival of your new bundle of joy. Many pregnant women feel like the moment they find out they’re pregnant until a few months after they give birth is a free pass out of going to the gym. These women could not be more wrong. In fact, pregnancy is one of the most important times for women to get serious about their workout.
There are three main reasons why exercise is vital to a pregnancy:
First, it’ll help you control your weight. You only need 300 extra calories, but with those monster cravings for ice cream and grilled cheese, you’re likely to gain more. And if you don’t want to be stuck post-partum with 50+ pounds to lose, you should do your part now to lose weight and stay fit.
Second, if you run the risk for pregnancy diabetes, working out can greatly cut your chances of actually developing the disease.
Third, exercise will give you the energy you need to persevere through the slugging periods that a pregnancy can sometimes thrust upon a woman. If you stay energized by working out, you’ll be less exhausted. It’ll also improve your mood.
There are just a few things you need to know before working out during your pregnancy: • Don’t try anything new. If you already play tennis, continue to do so. But if you’ve never picked up a racquet, then during these 9 months is not the time to start. • Avoid extreme sports like rock climbing, horseback riding, snowboarding, scuba diving, or anything else that just doesn’t seem appropriate for a pregnant woman. • In your first trimester, avoid jumping up and down too vigorously or handling weights that are too heavy. • You should always be able to carry on a conversation during a workout. You should never have to struggle for breath. • Don’t stop having sex! It’s great exercise and your online pharmacy can help provide you and your partner with some help, if you should need it.

Childbirth is a life-altering experience for any woman, but a Cesarean delivery can be overwhelming, whether itâs unexpected or planned. Pregnancy and your partner’s input?
I’d prefer answers from women who have gone through pregnancy with a partner, but feel free to answer whatever your situation…
Particularly when a child was planned, how much input does/did your partner have on diet/health related issues during the pregnancy? Ex. diet, exercise, vaccines, etc.
My husband has fears about face wash even though the midwife said it was okay. It was the first time I really feel like my body isn’t entirely my own, even if he isn’t making demands about it.
little – not insulting at all. That has basically been my experience so far. My husband is a great and reasonable guy, so it’s not that I think he’s going to give me crazy rules. The hard area is stuff that doesn’t have a lot of studies or that doctors disagree on. Part of me feels like we should be 50/50 in decisions like in our normal life, but the other part says that if the doctor says I can do something and I want to be able to do something that it is more like 60/40 or something.
Face wash? I think maybe he is a little too involved with your hygiene. Health related issues are fine to discuss- but it should be your choice about which approved items you use. Obviously not using ones with hexachloraphene or a high alcohol content (which are not on the approved lists anyway) are ideal.

How did you personally lose weight after pregnancy (without breastfeeding)?
I gained a LOT of weight during my pregnancy do to being on bedrest on and off and probably not eating as well as I could of. I have lost 40lbs so far in the past 3 month and I have 25 more to go. I only have time to workout for a half hour right now and go for walks when the weather is permitting. I’ll be honest, I am not very good at putting together a healthy diet and workout plan (I just don’t know what workout or foods would be best to promote weight loss).Any personal suggestions/experiences would be appreciated!
Well, I breastfed and that weight just flew off. LMAO just kidding!
I took the baby out for walks whenever I could. You HAVE to fit it in somewhere or it will never happen. It is so easy to say “oh I’m tired” or “baby is too fussy” or “maybe tomorrow.” Trust me. I waited 6 months saying those things before I got serious. You are doing well from what you’ve said. A half an hour is good and way better than nothing. Keep that up!!
As far as foods- keep it simple and the more natural, the better. Even if it means buying organic wheat crackers instead of traditional wheat crackers- there’s only natural sugars and no high fructose corn syrup in the organic. Watch portions- you don’t realize the extra stuff that your body doesn’t need but you eat anyway ’cause you are still “hungry.”
I like this article to explain portions:http://win.niddk.nih.gov/publications/just_enough.htm
Good luck with it. You are doing very well and soon enough you will be back to your healthy weight.

Low iron levels during pregnancy?
I am 13 weeks 2 days pregnant and I don’t know how to get enough iron into my diet. I really don’t like eating meat as the thought of consuming a dead body makes me feel a little ill. I don’t like blood and the thought of eating it freaks me out.
They don’t put how much iron is in things on the nutrition information charts and I am really confused. I know that there is iron in green vegetables, but is there iron in ALL green veg (e.g green peppers) and how much a day am I meant to eat?
My blood results come back in a few weeks, but I can’t wait that long. Does anyone have an answer to my question as I am really worried about hurting my baby. My sister did say that the baby would just take all the iron from me, but how long will this take?
I’m worried and confused…
I had VERY low iron during my pregnancy, my iron count dropping to just 6 grams. The baby was fine.. she was just stripping me from it. Spinach & broccoli is great for iron but i got some pregnancy friendly iron tablets to take during my pregnancy that bought it back up.

A lot of fruits and veggies…Remember you’re only 7 wks, right now the most important thing is to consume food that’s high in folic acid to avoid birth defeat. As food with low sodium…never ever eat can veggies, high in sodium and preservatives, not good for anyone. Use Mrs. Dash, seasoning it’s no salt.
