If you pick up any decent pregnancy book that’s up to date, it will tell you all the chemicals you should stay away from…then you can read the ingredients on your face wash/acne stuff. I don’t think so though. I had an excellent book that conservatively mentions chemicals out there that SOMEONE thinks MIGHT be bad for baby during pregnancy. It also bothers to mention that there are a lot of theories out there and while using caution is best, it’s usually not necessary to go overboard. There are a lot of things in make-up…etc that they say could not be good. There’s even something in Icey Hot cream that apparently you aren’t supposed to use. I didn’t realize that in the midst of agonizing muscle pain I used it- for a whole day. Then later in the week when I felt better, I happen to come across something that metnioned the ingredients that were in Icey Hot. I only used it the one day. I did a lot of research during my pregnancy. I dyed my hair 2 times (wait until after 1st trimester), I occasionally wore make-up. I tried to do everything healthy for my baby without checking into a sterile bubble for the 7 months he was in the womb. And no, he wasn’t born prematurely because I used Icey Hot and occasionally wore make-up. I definately think that it’s great that you’re doing your research- there are a lot of things that we didn’t know years ago and know now. However our parents didn’t know these things and we’re all here and well. As far as the aspirin soaking into your skin, I don’t know about that. You might want to ask your DR about that because Aspirin during pregnancy is a no no. If you’re that concerned about face washed, use organic things that are all natural. Good luck!!

Are these Tylenol products really safe during pregnancy?

My OB has given me a list of meds I can take during the pregnancy (now at 34 weeks preggo). On the list is any Tylenol cold/allergy/sinus products. However, each pharmacist I’ve spoken to (6 different pharmacies) has voted against the products because they have phenyleprine in them – a “Class C” drug that apparently isn’t good for the baby (not that any of them really are, though).

Catagory C drugs are considered to be acceptably safe to use, if you need them. (Many drugs that doctors prescribe every day are catagory C. There is no evidence of actual harm to a fetus.)

Now … because colds are rarely threatening to life or limb, many women will opt to not take a catagory C drug for a cold.

So, the decision is yours. You don’t HAVE to take something just because the doctor says you can. (It’s your body.) If you’re not comfortable with the theoretical risk, then gut it out. But if you’re miserable, you may opt to take the meds.

Genital herpes

Genital herpes is an STD or sexually transmitted disease that is caused by a virus called herpes simplex type 1 or HSV-1 or HSV-2. Many genital herpes caused by HSV-2, but many people have little or no signs and symptoms of infection. The signals are produced, and usually presents as small blisters on or around your rectum and genitals. These bulbs, while break and cause injuries that can take up to four weeks to heal after the first outbreak. Other are certain to happen, because there is no cure for genital herpes.

Genital herpes transmission

Herpes is transmitted through genital ulcers genitals. HSV-1 and 2 are within the wounds that the virus creates, and also released through the skin between outbreaks of blisters. HSV-2 is normally found only during sexual intercourse or contact with someone who is infected. HSV-1 can cause genital herpes, but actually it is more commonly known as cold sores. This infection transmitted by oral sex with an infected partner, and can cause genital herpes outbreaks.

Signs and symptoms

Many people infected unaware they are infected with the fact that often the signs and symptoms may be difficult to see. During the first outbreak, the signs would be very visible and often are present in the two weeks after the virus is transmitted through the body. Ulcers or blisters, then flu-like symptoms with fever and swollen glands are common. Once the diagnosis of genital herpes can expect to have up to 5 homes per year average. Complications

Treatment

No cure for herpes is a disease that will be in your body for the rest of his life. Anitviral drugs such as acyclovir and valaciclovir proven to help eliminate or reduce the number of households that the victim every year. Taken daily, helping to keep homes and taken down during an outbreak will reduce the duration of the epidemic, but does not cure the infection.
