Are pregnancy category B drugs safer than category C?
I said SAFER not SAFE
Yes A and B are considered safe drugs. The lower the categories go, the more dangerous the drug becomes because it means it hasnt been tested on pregnant women or not enough information is available on the side effects.

Identity theft, an on going threat to everyone’s privacy and finances, has resulted in numerous calamities for hundreds of thousands of citizens. Many safeguards have been instituted to stop its spread but it continues. And now a new ID theft has surfaced which presents even more serious problems. Medical identity theft, the new id theft problem is growing at an alarming rate. Daily 1000′s of accounts of privacy, health and finances improprieties, as a result of medical identity theft, are reported.
Medical identity theft can create life-threatening problem, especially for senior citizens. For this reason, local and federal law makers are considering drafting legislation which will make the criminal punishment for medical id theft far more harsh than current id theft laws. New proposed laws will go beyond just slapping hands and firing employees. New laws are to include significant fines and sentencing the guilty party to substantial jail time. It is important to announce medical id theft will not be tolerated with a stricter message to deter this type of crime.
Like standard id theft, medical identity thieves steal the victims name, insurance information, and Social Security Number and use it without its real owner’s knowledge. Medical ID identity thieves have the potential to endanger not only the victims finances, but their health as well as they utilize the stolen information to get medical services, obtain fraudulent prescriptions, or, more commonly, to apply for credit.
Over the past ten years the economy for personal information has really matured. The institutions which had the most to lose from the negative reports about wide spread id theft, like banks and online merchants started doing a much better job of protecting data.
Today’s identity thieves go where the cap on resistance is the least and where the financial opportunities are the greatest. Consumers’ medical insurance information is their new venue and electronic medical records are the in road they use to take advantage of this new opportunity. Individual medical information is quickly becoming as valuable as their financial information counter part,” according to Scott Mitic, chief executive officer for TrustedID, an identity theft protection company.
According to market research firm Javelin Strategy & Research new report, data theft related to exposure of medical records rose in one year more than 100%, from 3% in 2008 to 7%, or 275,000 cases, last year.
Once in the hands of these crooks, there is no shortage of ways the hijacked medical information can be put to use. In a number of cases, employees with access to this personal information steals patient credit card information and go on shopping spree. Other cases, involve obtaining and falsifying prescriptions for abuse and resell and more seriously, use of a stolen identity to submit bogus claims to insurers and falsify medical records to support those claims.
“In situations where the intention is to defraud the insurance companies, the medical id thieves are usually more sophisticated individuals who are part of a networked effort. But the origin of the information theft usually remains low-tech and originates from person-to-person communication,” Mitic added.
Seniors, who generally use health care services more frequently, and may not be as aware of identity theft risks, have been the most likely victims of medical identity fraud. Their lack of knowledge of this fraud also make them more susceptible to the deceptive persuasion used to obtain their personal information.
A recent Medicare phone scam conducted in several states targeted elderly consumers by pressuring them to divulge personal details on the pretext they were being issued new Medicare cards. An official sounding organization calls on the phone saying they are updating the victims Medicare data information prior to issuing the new card.
One Medicare scheme, reported in the New York Daily News, involved a 72-year-old woman from Grahamsville, NY. She learned she had become the victim of medical ID theft when she began receiving strange insurance bills. The paperwork showed Medicare had been billed, in her name, for a pregnancy test, a prostate exam, semen analysis, and other medical services she had not had performed. Bureaucratic hurdles prevented her from stopping the fraud, despite that she repeatedly called Medicare to alert the agency. At the end of her three-year ordeal with Medicare, the total fraud in her name amounted to close to $50,000.
Consumers most be vigilant to prevent medical ID theft, both proactively and re actively. All information, including medical insurance information, Social Security information, dates of birth and PIN numbers should be treated equally valuable and never shared unless you are thoroughly familiar with the source you are giving it to. It is important that you check your medical benefits statements as diligently as you do your credit card statements. Also be aware you have the right to request an annual disclosure record from their insurer and do so. Medical id theft is growing. In the wrong hands, this information has the potential to endanger not only your finances, but your health.

Weight gain in pregnancy?
Since 9 weeks, I only gained 18 lbs. I am now 35 weeks. Is this alright? Is it too much or too little? I am considered “obese” .. although I do argue with the guidelines sometimes there is nothing I can do so this is how I am classified. Once the baby comes I plan on dieting. I am on the Gestational Diabetes diet — 3 meals and 3 snacks a day, up to 45g of carbs for meals and 30 for snacks. Does this seem normal? Now, I weigh 237 lbs. and I’m 5’5”, 35 weeks. Am I alright? Sorry, I worry a lot.
If you’re already overweight, and you’re on a special diet to get exactly what you need, then you’re probably just worrying too much! If you were underweight and had only gained 18lbs, that could be a problem, but I’d say you’re fine. And I assume your doctor hasn’t said that the weight gain is a problem.
Normal weight gain for a pregnancy is around 25-35 pounds, but that’s based on average weight before pregnancy. If you’re smaller, you need to gain more and if you’re bigger, you don’t need to gain as much. Try to stop worrying and just enjoy the last few weeks as much as you can!

My son is almost one and a half now. I have not lost all my baby weight yet. After he was born told me that the endometriosis. I am tired of the extra weight and you want it GONE! Any really good unit and videos to buy. Also determined not to Weight Watchers or something too high compared with the $ $ $ wise. Thanks!
Number of Calories and walking 30 minutes every day, have one day off per week, yes. Buy a book in calories, write down everything you eat and Add it all up, do a set amount of calories each day. this may not work for you, everyone is different, but I lost 13 pounds in six months. this may not seem like much, but it is important to be sensitive and should not be done! Moreover, the addition and write down everything you eat seems a lot of work, but after some time you know what is in this or that, and you do not even need to refer to your book!

Women who are expecting need to keep fit just like any of us. They are also in destitute for good health. Keeping the cardio strong before the day of delivery is top priority. This is why exercises are vital to keep her resilient for what lies ahead. In the recent years, physical fitness has risen in the conscious mind of both men and women alike. Even the expecting moms are not total left out the workout routine sessions. Yet, they still need proper supervision and constant reminding of the ill effect that this can bring about when excessively done.
Before beginning any workouts on their own, pregnant moms should go their obstetrician for a thorough consult. They must be advised properly first if they are not in the lines of a high-risk pregnancy. If so, then it will be best to keep away from the gym for as long as they are in this condition. If otherwise, then let the video play and the workouts start.
Not all applicable exercises available in the gym are allowed for the expectant moms. Intense exercises and contact sports are prohibited because of its rough nature. Escalated weight on joints is discouraged to them when they are too heavy. This will affect the muscles, as it will stress them. Too much load on the joints will cause it to weaken further, since the pregnancy has already increased it. But if the weight is not too much to handle for the lower body, then it is a good workout routine.
Comparing the best video exercises are a brilliant idea to filter out the good from the bad. Using video exercises for expectant moms are very common. They are not only very convenient to use they also give a sense of comfort to pregnant mothers. This is so, because they can have those workouts at home, meaning less travel and lots of saving along the way. It’s quite a challenge to find ways on saving up when one is on its way. There are so many things that need to be bought. This is why where saving is concerned focus should be more.
The next query would naturally be how to investigate the quality of a video workout. The best way is to read on how they are rated. Usually, ratings are done to aid the consuming public on their decision making. This is why they are release on the market. It is also good advice if these ratings do not come from the product endorsers. This is be biased rating. Most of the time, marketing strategies are done like personal testimonials by users. They are then released along with the advertisements. One thing is true with those ads, they are scripted and are not very reliable.
So, who is the most credible? The critics are the ones who are the topnotch consults. Their ratings are meant to discriminate the product with objectivity and research. More often than not, those persons who evaluate those workout videos are professional trainers, doctors and calisthenics experts. Their know-how on the subject has deep foundation on different studies involving pregnancy exercises. Specializations are important to be able to give an educated critic.

summer and gestational diabetes…?
summer and gestational diabetes?
“So I have gestational diabetes. I already had it in my first pregnancy so I was kinda prepared for this”… or so I thought. My problem now is that all the recipes I used during my first pregnancy had to be prepared by either grilling, cooking or baking and lets be honest who wants that kind of work when they are 30 weeks pregnant and the general temperature is about 95 degrees outside and its kinda hard to keep the house cool. So does anyone have any good summer recipes for salads or some no cook food that wont drive my blood-sugar into the sky. Maybe some low carb smoothies or something similar.
My first pregnancy was during the winter so it didn’t bother me as much to cook.
Please only serious answers and be nice
This is a side and it cooks fast too:
Color full veggie sauté:
2 med red peppers julienned
2 med green peppers julienned
2 med zucchini julienned
4 med carrots julienned
1 tsp olive oil
4 cups thinly sliced cabbage
1/4 tsp salt
4 tsp cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp sesame seeds.
In a large skillet, sauté the peppers, zucchini, and carrots in olive oil, for 5 min. Add the cabbage, salt and pepper, sauté 1 min longer.
In small bowl combine vin and water, pour over veggies. Cook and stir for 2-3 min or until heated thru. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
———-
This one is pushing it on the carbs with the fruit, but double the spinach.
Fruit or Spinach Salad:
I know this sounds a little odd but it adds a nice light zip and tang for fruit:
¼ cup buttermilk
2 tbsp sour cream
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
8 oz baby spinach
Red apples, thinly sliced
1 cup red grapes cut in ½
Or leave out the spinach and just add other fruits such as
Raspberries or black berries, strawberries, watermelon etc….
————
Raspberry Vinaigrette & Orange Salad
1 pkg (10oz) salad greens
1 can (11oz) mandarin oranges drained
1 cup julienne/match stick jicama
¾ cup Light Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing
2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (buy them toasted or toast your own)
Toss everything but the sesame seeds in a bowl and then sprinkle with seseme seeds.
***Add chicken strips to round it out.
Or use sliced onions instead of the jicama

Diabetes During Pregnancy: What is Gestational Diabetes?
Understanding High Blood Pressure (HBP #1)
Red itchy welt like lines on my upper arms, sides, hips, and upper back…32 weeks pregnant…HELP PLEASE!?
I am 32 weeks pregnant and in the past week (starting on the evening of my first Bio-Physical Profile) have noticed red welt like lines on my upper arms, sides, hips, and upper back that are constantly itching. I realize that itching is normal during pregnancy. However the itching is so severe that it wakes me up and then keeps me up all night. I’ve tried lotion, cold baths, I’ve even gone so far as to wipe the areas with rubbing alcohol (which helps for all of 5 minutes). It’s not a heat rash, but it seems like contact with fabric (i.e. Clothing, Sheets, furniture, etc.) seems to irritate the areas even more. I have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and mild hypertension (being controlled by medication that I’ve been taking throughout the entire pregnancy so I know it’s not a reaction to that either). If you have any suggestions I would appreciate them. I also don’t have any allergies, other than “Pet Dander” and I’ve not come in contact with any animals. Thank you!
it could have something to do with your liver.. i forgot what it was called but you need to get a blood test done.. it happens in late pregnancy and one of the symptoms is severe itching.
You really need to tell your doctor asap and get your blood test done
good luck
