Since you arent pregnant yet then you can exercise as much as you want. Even during the first few months exercise does not have to be very limited. Once you get bigger though it will be harder to do certain things. Yoga is a good one. Walking or swimming would be great too.

I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and decided i should do some sort of exercise instead of just sitting on the couch. I do plenty of walking but i am loving the wii fit yoga at the moment.
i was just curious what yoga positions on the wii fit i should avoid or that are particularly good for pregnancy.

As long as your doctor says it’s okay to exercise you can do whatever you want. Keep in mind that you should always be able to keep up a conversation. If you can’t, slow down so you don’t over exert yourself. Swimming is EXCELLENT for labor and getting your body back. I never got into yoga, but I hear it’s really good as well. And of course walking (and for now jogging or running) is great. If you can do some light weight training that’ll be even better because of course muscle burns the extra fat quicker and when you’re more muscular you skin tends to be more elastic. Also eating a lot of colorful fruits and veggies, drinking plenty of cold water and getting in plenty of calcium are all great ways to get your body ready to bounce back. I’ve barely gained any weight with this pregnancy just because I’ve been eating right and going for walks/jogs. I’ve actually recently stopped the jogging and am only running because the jogging caused me to get a few contractions the other day and it was severely painful. I’m only 30w5d so I gave it up.

Good Morning :) I know this question better fits in the “diet/fitness” section but I feel there might be more people that just had a baby here!!

My son was born April 23rd! Healthy 9lb 11oz boy!

I had gained 50 lbs during my pregnany. Lost 30 pretty much right away without doing anything and I would LOVE to lose this last 20 (I can’t even button my pre-pregnancy work pants…ughhh makes me feel so fat!)

Was there anything that really worked for you? As I’m sure U know free time is hard to come by. I work full time (8-5) & my nights go by so fast with making dinner, doing household stuff, then getting baby ready for bed! Last night I went to the gym at 10pm! I do take my son on walks sometimes but what else did you do or eat?

I really wanna lose 20 lbs and tighten up my flabby stomach!
My son weighed 15.5 last week!

My son was born April 27th 9lbs 9oz! :o ) I gained 40 and actually last it ALL in the first week, I know crazy right? However, I still have the ‘mama pooch’. I am breastfeeding, and that has helped me loose some (I was heavy when I got pregnant, so even though I lost all my pregnancy weight I still have to loose like 50 lbs to feel healthy again…), but all I have really had to do was not eat junk and walk a few times a week. It is better to loose it slowly, it will be easier to keep it off that way. But EVERYTHING I have read says ’9 months up 9 months down’, so I have a feeling my tummy is going to be squishy for a while yet, even if I lost a significant amount ya know? :o (

I am curious, how much is does your son weigh now? I weighed him yesterday and he was 18.8! Little chubbers! *lol*

I’M twenty years old turning 21 in a few months. I had my son early january so he is almost seven months now. I breastfed him until now but by the end of this month i am planning to put him onto formula. Since i have had him i have been really lazy and eating a lot of junk food but i’m planning on starting a diet and exercise as of next month. Before i got pregnant i had a reasonable tummy , when i would tense it there would be no excess fat hanging off like it does now. I want to know what types of excersise i can do to tone up my tummy. I hear people say ab crunches alone is not good enough and you need to do cardio as well. I got a few stretchmarks towards the end of my pregnancy which suked but i’ll live. I want to know what are the chances of me having loose skin after i drop the weight off. I am 168 cm or 5’6 and currently weigh 70 kg or 154 pounds…a bit much lol

Exercises – Yoga – etc. at 7 1/2 mo Prego need some techniques!?

I am a fairly active individual but I really don’t exercise, I haven’t ever needed to. I have been a ballet dancer since I was 3 years old and have maintained the flexibility and body type my entire life since (28 yrs. old).

I am wanting to learn some exercises and appropriate stretching for my level of pregnancy. I am still fairly small for being 31 wks along so I haven’t had any issues with mobility or anything.

I have tried looking for Yoga classes and such – but I think I would feel more comfortable doing them on my own. A description or a link to where i can get the techniques would be helpful!

There are a lot of good pregnancy videos/DVDs out there. Check them out on Amazon.com and pay attention to the ratings at the bottom of each to see which one women like best. I took a pregnancy yoga class throughout my second and early in my third trimester, and it does help. They say it will help with labor and delivery, as well, since you’re working on the areas that will need to “give” when you give birth.
