Have you had a similar pregnancy and birth, your mother / grandmother?
I was wondering if anyone has any anecdotal evidence about whether a genetic effect on this or not? Does pregnancy takes the same amount was so premature or long? He has been working on the same page? Do you experience similar or different from the pain of childbirth?
My mother I was 2 weeks late, I had my daughter two weeks ago. My mother used to pass drug users had to have an epidural. My mother was at work with me for over 12 hours, I had my daughter at 8 hours after contractions began. I was older than my mother, my daughter is my oldest daughter. Completely different births.

While I think it’s better if an ob-gyn oversees pregnancy and birth since they are able to do much more and have more training, keep in mind that women have been getting pregnant and having babies since the beginning of time! In fact, it was only in the last century that doctors became a definite presence during delivery, and that is mostly because there was a movement away from extreme pain during birth, and midwives did not have the sophisticated instruments that made the dangers of delivery less imminent (that’s typical to make the male-oriented profession have the better equipment!).
Midwives now are making a comeback, as more and more women realize that doctors don’t always make the best decisions about pregnancy and delivery. It is more acceptable now that women just listen to their bodies (like they did for many centuries and fared just fine!).
So I don’t know why you asked this question exactly, but I think that while the birthing process is a complicated medical procedure and not a barbeque, that it is also a very natural process.
If you’re more interested in this topic, I suggest Judith Walzer Leavitt’s “Brought to Bed: A History of Women and Childbirth, 1790-1950.” I think I remember the title correctly.

Yes!! My period is due the exact same day. Don’t go by what everybody else says because no ones body is the exact same. I am experiencing very heavy and sore breast to the point I can’t lay on them, legs tingling (weakness), a full feeling in my lower stomach (feeling like I just ate a lot of food), and I have been nauseous for the past 3 days. I am going to wait until next Monday to find out for sure. Even my Husband notices the changes. I know my body and I know that this is something that just doesn’t happen to me. I mean what the heck….I never have sore breats!!!

How early did you have pain from ectopic pregnancy?
I am 5 weeks pregnant and am having twinges of pain on my right side. Is this too early to have symptoms from an ectopic? I’m hoping it’s just a cyst, but I won’t find out for sure until a week from now at my first ultrasound. If you’ve had an ectopic, how early did your pain start?

Drugs during pregnancy?
I have seven weeks of gestation. I'm on Prilosec for ulcers, and has recently been often shoulder surgery require a Lortab to help shoulder pain. But I stopped taking the Lortab I have since discovered she was pregnant. I am in great pain and asked my advice on whether taking this medicine or not. I'm not sure of the Prilosec, but I know that Lortab in category C and not know if their safety during pregnancy. Does anyone have experience taking This medicine during pregnancy? U How to cope with a difficult pregnancy?
I have 35 weeks this Thursday … and im sooo miserable … I can not sleep at night because ligament pain … I turn and turn and take a few hours of sleep per night … its very difficult to correct … Not me, not the back and, obviously, not my stomach … My sciatic pain that shoots into the back of the left leg and it feels like my ass … it hurts me every time I have more to the point where sometimes I can not move or walk … I can not eat much, well im worried about my babys health at all because it is very difficult for me to keep food down or get a lot of food in. .. Had a similar experience and if so, what the heart doctor for u? Will you make ahead of time if this continues? I do not know how much I can take, and I cry every day because of the pain im in. .. How do I get a home pregnancy test without my parents knowing?
I think I’m pregnant. I have all the symptoms and have taken many online tests and they all said yes or very likely. I want to get a test to be sure but I don’t want my parents to know. I don’t want to worry them if I am not pregnant and have them get suspicious. Help please!!! Thank you!
