Very Early Pregnancy Symptoms
Do you think you are pregnant? Want to know what are very early pregnancy symptoms? These can vary from woman to woman. Some very basic things which could lead you to believe that you are pregnant are things such as the most obvious missed period. Below are some very early pregnancy symptoms that are most common in women.
Missed periods is a good indication of pregnancy and is the best known symptom of pregnancy but of course further tests would be needed to confirm as there are many different reasons for missed periods including stress, etc. This can be misleading as there are many factors which could cause you to have a missed period or irregular period such as stress, overproduction of progesterone and estrogen hormones, among other causes that can delay or stop this natural process.
Morning sickness and pregnancy have often been thought to go hand in hand but this can also be misleading. If you experience legitimate morning sickness then it would be expected around 4 – 6 weeks but can not be 100% accurate. Nausea & morning sickness occurs within 50% to 95% of all women.
Pregnancy and strange food cravings. Can be false as the reason could be pregnancy or could be as simple as your body may be lacking certain vitamins and minerals, etc. Unusual strange food cravings usually occur within the first trimester.
Cramping can occur within 8 – 10 days after fertilization. This is quit normal. If you have had a record of previous miscarriages then perhaps worth consulting a doctor if cramping occurs.
Fatigue can occur very early in pregnancy, even with days after unprotected sex. Drink plenty of water, something that you should do through our pregnancy.
Phantom pregnancies or false pregnancies can happen often. This happens most often with couples who are trying to have a baby and are very keen to get pregnant.
As can be seen, there are many different misleading signs of pregnancy. The best pregnancy symptom to tell if you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test which are very accurate.

Boot Camp for New Dads Offers Tips for Taking Care of Moms-to-be
Bishop, who founded Boot Camp for New Dads in 1990 and has helped to prepare more than 200,000 men for fatherhood over the years, offers important advice from his second book, Crash Course for New Dads: Tools, Checklists and Cheat Sheets on how to support a mom-to-be:
Communicate. Make it a point to talk to each other about your thoughts, concerns about the new baby and plans for the future. Even if mom seems to be handling pregnancy well, talking about what is happening now and in the future is the best way for you to prepare to be a family.
Get moving. Forego sitting around watching television. Take walks together. Not only will this physically benefit the both of you, it will also open the lines of communication.
Show her you care. Pregnancy is the time to take it up a notch and get even more creative in showing her how much you care about her and the baby. For example, if she has a craving for ice cream, call her from the ice cream store and read her the flavors. Paint the nursery with rainbows. You get the idea.
Help her cope. Moms-to-be will experience countless physical and emotional changes. You can help her through this by becoming more knowledgeable about her symptoms. Take the initiative and read some of her favorite pregnancy books. If she doesn’t have any books yet, be a hero and make the trip to the bookstore or library and ask the staff for recommendations.
Let her lean on you. The physical and emotional impacts of pregnancy may be intense and she is going to depend on you to help her get through the roughest times. From cravings to morning sickness, intense backaches and more, she’ll benefit from you comforting her and helping her to hold it all together.
Accompany her to the doctor. This is the single most important thing you can do during pregnancy, as visits with the obstetrician get you personally connected with what’s going on with mom and your baby. Keep the focus on mom and make sure she is getting all her questions answered.
“Every mom-to-be will experience a unique rollercoaster of physical and emotional changes. Dads have the important job of taking care of mom before, during and after the birth of their child,” explained Bishop. “During pregnancy, dads tend to serve as the ‘punching bag’ for all moms’ frustrations. Be patient and understanding. Don’t get drawn into arguments and try to show her the lighter side of things. Laughter can relieve a lot of stress.”
Bishop’s first book, Hit the Ground Crawling, is focused on work balance; being a dad and caring for mom. Both books are available online at www.DadsAdventure.com.
New Dads Learn What to Expect at Boot Camp Workshops
Dads-to-be will be better equipped to face the challenges and opportunities of fatherhood after attending a Boot Camp “hands on” educational workshop. Men attend the class when they are expecting their first baby, and are joined in the workshop by “veterans” who had previously attended and have returned with their two to four-month-old baby in tow. They are able to give the dads-to-be a realistic idea of what to do and what to expect when their first baby comes.
Boot Camp for New Dads
Now celebrating their 18th year, Boot Camp for New Dads is nationally acclaimed as the “Best Practice” for preparing men to be fathers and has been named a U.S. Navy Model Program. Boot Camp for New Dads has prepared more than 200,000 men for fatherhood over the years.
With more than 4.1 million births last year alone (National Center for Health Statistics), and approximately 1.5 million men becoming new dads every year, it’s more important than ever for fathers to realize that being a “good provider” is only part of the very central role they have in their children’s lives.

How do conception calculators work during pregnancy?
Curious about how conception calculators work?
I am of course pregnant, but I only had sex One day.. I know it could take awhile for it to “actually happen”, but even so… All of the ‘what was my conception time frame calculators’ that I have tryed, have not brought up the date I had sex. My due date is Estimated first at October 27th, now October 18th. Which both say I concieved one between january 30- febuary 7th, and the other january 21st through 30th… but I had intercourse Just one time, and it was Valentines day (Feb 14th). How does that work? My last menstraul cycle was January 20th. My fiance is worried I have cheated on him because of the dates not adding up.
They work you due date 40 weeks from the day of your last menstrual cycle. So that is only off by a day if you think about it.Due dates are based on the babies size too. it can be wrong if your having a small baby. But assure your fiancee that your not cheating.
Also Sperm can last up to 5 days alive so bear that in mind when it comes to conceving day.

Pregnancy Sleeplessness
Many expecting mothers ask this question very often.
“As soon as I got pregnant I have been observing that I am not able to get enough sleep. The most frustrating thing has been the inability to return back to sleep if disturbed. Is it normal?”
Thankfully, the answer is yes! During the course of pregnancy, it’s difficult to get sleep. Let’s see as to why it happens.
What are the most common causes of insomnia or sleeplessness during pregnancy?
1. Empty the bladder- Yes, a frequent cause of less or no sleep during pregnancy is the feeling of emptying the bladder. This happens because your kidneys are working overtime thereby supplying an extra amount of blood to the body due to the fetus development. When you lie down to sleep, some blood is retained and needs to be filtered by the kidneys, forcing your kidneys to work harder and make you feel uncomfortable. A tendency of frequent urination is felt during pregnancy day and night because of the mentioned activity and is the most common cause of sleeplessness
2. Being uncomfortable- Another reason for not getting enough sleep during pregnancy is being uncomfortable. As the baby grows, kicks and the heartbeat sounds so loud that you feel it’s sound would cause problems to the neighbors by waking them up (In reality, blood flows to the baby), you would find sleeping uncomfortable. In order to get sleep, you would need to try new positions. Your body temperature might be too hot or too cold. You could have cramps and legs sore making you feel uncomfortable to no end. Thus, being uncomfortable due to various cues also causes insomnia during pregnancy
3. Dreams and fantasy- Some of the expecting mothers might experience various situations like feeling an extra dose of excitement, fear of delivery, and these could destroy the efforts to get comfortable and eventually sleep. Pregnant woman can also experience vivid dreams of vivid nature to make them uncomfortable due to progesterone hormones
4. Heartburn and indigestion- Sometimes later during the tenure of pregnancy, heartburn and indigestion can trigger some unpleasant situations and make you feel insomniac. Heartburn could be due to a spicy diet and could be easily controlled. Indigestion occurs because of changes in the stomach pattern due to the baby. Thus, even these situations can disturb the sleeping pattern
How to overcome these situations to get proper sleep?
By adhering to some simple tips, you could just help yourself get back to the regime of proper sleep. If you are not getting sleep at all, stop staring at the clock that irritates you by making you realize that it’s late. Another way to get sleep would be stop sleeping during the day time.
You could also take a hot bath, a hot cup of milk and listen to some soft music to make you relax so that you can sleep. Try to eat less spicy food so that you are comfortable. Read a book that you don’t like and it shall also help you. Keep the atmosphere of bedroom relaxing by keeping it warm or cool, dark and the bed cozy. Also keep the tensions away.
By following these, you could just help yourself get back to some sound sleeping routines during the course of pregnancy. Good Luck!

How many ultrasounds did you have during your pregnancy?
I just found out I am about 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant! Yay me! lol
Anyways, I popped into the doctors office yesterday to pick up a prenatal package, and to get my bloodwork done.
So far, she informed me about THREE ultrasounds that are mandatory during pregnancy:
Around 8-9 weeks for a dating ultrasound
Around 13 weeks to make sure fingers/toes are developed, etc.
About 18-20 weeks to determine sex of the baby, and re-evaluate development.
This is for a HEALTHY pregnancy. I’m just curious if you all had this many ultrasounds? Should I expect more? I’m not complaining, I cant wait to actually SEE my baby! I’m more or less curious what you all went through, and what I should expect with all these doctors visits! By the way, I live in Ontario, Canada if that matters.
Thanks!
I will be having three total ultrasounds from the doctors office and one 4d ultrasound. I had one at 13-15 weeks for growth, one at 22 for sex development, and one coming up in my 32nd week to double check growth and development. Congrats on your baby!! I recommend the 4d ultrasounds when you get farther along, it’s amazing to watch your little one open their eyes and yawn

Have you had a similar pregnancy and birth, your mother / grandmother?
I was wondering if anyone has any anecdotal evidence about whether a genetic effect on this or not? Does pregnancy takes the same amount was so premature or long? He has been working on the same page? Do you experience similar or different from the pain of childbirth?
My mother I was 2 weeks late, I had my daughter two weeks ago. My mother used to pass drug users had to have an epidural. My mother was at work with me for over 12 hours, I had my daughter at 8 hours after contractions began. I was older than my mother, my daughter is my oldest daughter. Completely different births.

Will Lisa Olson’s Pregnancy Miracle Really Help You Get Pregnant?
Getting pregnant quickly and easily isn’t simply a matter of picking up a copy of Lisa Olson’s “Pregnancy Miracle”. No matter what anyone says, you are not going to get pregnant simply by reading a book.
Although the methods in Lisa Olson’s Pregnancy Miracle have helped thousand of couples that were having issues getting pregnant, it took effort and applying the knowledge and advice within the pages of Pregnancy Miracle. For some it was as simple as changing just one or two thing in their life while others applied all the principles that Lisa Olson teaches before they found success.
There will be times when you might feel that all of this is just too much…that there are too many things to change but as the saying goes, “short term pain for long term gain”. The long term gain or the prize that you will be rewarded with is a little baby that will grow to call you “Mom” or “Dad” and you simply can’t put a price tag on that.
Some couples reported that they had formerly been overwhelmed with information and confused as they tried to sort through all the free information on the internet….trying to differentiate fact from fiction and valuable advice from old wives tales. And although Lisa Olson’s book weighed in at over 200 pages they found it easy reading because it was about a topic that was near and dear to their heart. They wanted to know all of this information and were relieved, if not somewhat surprised at times, to learn the truth about infertility, infertility specialists and some interesting insight into what might be causing their own infertility.
The greatest thing about Lisa Olson is not just that she has gathered together all of this information in an easy to understand format that has helped so many couples to overcome infertility but Mrs. Olson has been right where you are right now. For her, it was a 14 year odyssey that many others would have given up on that led her to learn the techniques that are in Pregnancy Miracle. And yes, she did eventually become pregnant using these techniques when modern medicine had turned it’s back on her and told her that she was simply infertile and would never give birth to a child.
So this topic is Lisa Olson’s life. It is her passion and infertility research was the focus of her existence for 14 years and it continues on today. She has taken such a personal interest in infertility and helping those that, like her, desire to have a child more than just about anything in the world, that she offers you one on one help in addition to her book. Part of the “Pregnancy Miracle Plan” includes three months of counseling with Lisa Olson herself. For three months you can contact Lisa Olson if you have any questions about the material in the book or if you have any personal questions that pertain to your particular circumstance. And of course you can contact her and give her the good news once you do become pregnant. I am sure that is the type of news that she never grows tired of hearing and you would love to be able to give.
Screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin (author of the fanciful Ghost) made his directorial debut with this more serious confrontation with the realities of death. Michael Keaton plays an advertising executive who learns he is dying even as his wife (Nicole Kidman) is pregnant. The film beautifully focuses on his anger over everything: the unfinished business of his life and the probability he’ll never meet…

my child was diagnosed with anencephaly help!?
my wife is in her 37 weeks into pregnancy when we decided to undergo 3d ultrasound for us to have a picture of our baby while he is still in his mother’s womb but the sonographer said that she can’t see the whole part of his head so she can’t measure the diameter and diagnosed of having a anencephaly could this be possible? we can only see the other side of his face because he is in his sideways. Is the ultrasound 100% accurate?
A sonographer is NOT a physician and is NOT qualified to make any diagnosis. Their job is to take the ultrasound.
Have your OB take a look at the ultrasound, and let the sonographer’s boss know that he/she is making diagnoses.

Tips to Keep Off the Pounds During Pregnancy
Have you ever wondered why it is so easy for celebrities to return to their pre-pregnancy weight? The reason is that they don’t gain more weight than is required to make a healthy baby. Weight that is not gained from the formation of the baby, placenta, womb, and extra blood supply is considered to be extra. Most women can have a healthy baby without gaining any extra weight, according to most doctors. The extra pounds can be kept off by following these tips.
Normal vs. Extra Weight Gain
It is critical to be aware of what constitutes the average weight gain that is simply a direct result of pregnancy vs. a surplus of weight gain. 25 to 35 pounds is the average weight gain for a healthy woman, while a woman who is somewhat heavier than normal will gain from 15 to 25 pounds, and a woman under the average weight is likely to put on 28-40 pounds. These pounds are generally gained a little at a time throughout the duration of the pregnancy. The first trimester involves the loss of 2 to 4 pounds, for instance, and a woman will gain 1 to 2 pounds a week after that until delivery.
Why are these pounds necessary? Your growing baby, uterus, tissues, and more that is needed to form a healthy baby, make up the weight. The following is a detailed list of pounds and their constituents:
* The weight of your uterus is approximately 2 to 5 pounds.
* The weight of the baby is approximately 7 to 8 pounds.
* The baby’s surrounding placenta constitutes about 2 to 3 pounds.
* 2 to 3 pounds of weight is gained from your expanding breast tissue.
* 5 to 9 pounds is made up of the fat stores for breast-feeding and delivery.
* There is 2 to 3 pounds of amniotic fluid.
* The additional blood supporting the baby weighs 4 pounds.
Generally, any weight gained beyond these amounts is not necessary for the growth and development of a healthy baby. Any “extra” weight gained is difficult to get off after the baby’s birth.
Eating for Two
The “Eating for Two” myth can quickly cause extra weight gain. A healthy woman only needs an extra 100 to 300 calories to form a healthy baby, as understood by celebrities. This is about the same as eating an apple and a bowl of cereal. You may be disappointed to hear that any extra calories you may be consuming will be stored as fat by your body. When you are fighting to get into your pre-pregnancy jeans, you will notice the unwanted fat that you may not have recognized during pregnancy.
It is important to not excessively indulge when you are pregnant to avoid gaining unwanted weight. Stick to smart food choices, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains. The nutrition is important for your growing baby as well as for preserving your fitness.
Move that Baby Bump
Most often, when a magazine prints a picture of a pregnant celebrity, the mommy-to-be is out for a walk. Ever wonder why that is? According to many doctors, exercise is okay for healthy pregnant women. The extra blood flow when taking a walk is great for evening out mood swings and burning any extra calories you consumed during your last craving. This is yet another celebrity weight secret!
Note: These tips are for healthy women who have discussed the benefits of not gaining extra weight during pregnancy with their doctors. During a pregnancy, women should not attempt to avoid gaining healthy weight. The unborn baby and the mother may experience unhealthy side effects due to this. As previously stated, consult your doctor before beginning any weight loss program or exercise routine, especially during pregnancy.
