Taking a home pregnancy test after 18 days of unprotected sex?
So from today its been 18 days that i had unprotected sex and i took the digital First Response pregnancy test today. It came out negative. However im still a little worried.. Is 18 days long enough? I haven’t missed a period yet so i would like to know before if i do. Help?
Possible It’s Too Early. You Can “Start” Testing 2-3 Weeks After Sex, But It’s Way Better To Wait Untill You Miss You’re Period, Cause It Could Be A False Negative Anytime Before.

Doctor test and home pregnancy tests do not make sense … Help?
I bought a box of evidence first response home pregnancy (two in the box), and became an immediate test. He says he can detect the pregnancy hormone 5 days before my absence of menstruation. I used a week earlier, knowing that could not be reliable, but we have to wait anyway. I tested negative. I saved the second attempt and it took three days later, four days before my missed period. I received a very low positive. I went to the doctor today and that a sample of urine and blood tests. His urine test was negative and still I'm Waiting for the results of blood tests. With false positives are rare, I'm pregnant?
You're probably pregnant. Most Urine tests are not sensitive enough to pick up the pregnancy hormone. blood test will probably positive. Good luck.

How to recognize the symptoms of early pregnancy
Each woman is unique. The same is true for all pregnancies. No two pregnancies are similar, even for the same woman. This may affect or be a symptom of a pregnant woman can not be the same in another, and vice versa.
The first symptoms of pregnancy – some women can tell immediately if they are pregnant based on their feelings and observations, even before taking a pregnancy test. But some women are not aware of her pregnancy, perhaps because they do not know the signs or symptoms. Because of these different experiences pregnancy there is a wide variety of signs and symptoms of pregnancy, which is using a strategy common, or even some signs and symptoms rather difficult to identify the beginning of a pregnancy.
Apart from going to the doctor to take a pregnancy test, which by far the most allowed to establish a pregnancy, understanding the female body and the changes it undergoes during pregnancy can help you make subtle clues that might indicate pregnancy.
One symptom is the beginning of the period of pregnancy interruption. But it is applicable and reliable for women with a normal menstrual cycle. But for women who have irregular menstrual periods, the absence of a period of one month or two does not mean a possible pregnancy. And neither does the monitoring, or have a light period indicate pregnancy at all. In fact, having a period of absence does not mean or delay pregnancy, but may be the result of many things, including a change in diet, medications or stress. Some women, the absence of an average period of pregnancy, but not for some women.
Another early sign of the possibility of pregnancy are the changes in the breasts of a woman. Often indicates a change in the system of the body, usually associated with motherhood. In early pregnancy, the breasts often undergo recognizable changes that help women to know that something is happening in the body. The breasts become tender and painful to touch, and sometimes too sensitive to stimuli. But this symptom or sign is not as proof that there is an ongoing pregnancy. This is because change itself is experienced by a woman during a menstrual cycle. There are also some changes in some cases of women subjected to drugs or food sensitivities.
The morning sickness is another sign of pregnancy early and often occurs with nausea and vomiting. This is a classic symptom of early pregnancy where a woman suddenly experienced severe dislike the smell or taste of food that previously had no effect on it before. It also occurs at any time of day, but sometimes it can be difficult to solve with some crackers and a glass of luke warm water.
Another sign of early pregnancy is extreme fatigue. Normal activities no to a woman before you was suddenly after pregnant. You might even find it difficult to keep your eyes on or she needs to require a nap in the afternoon or evening. Some women feel more trips to the bathroom while others report feelings of bloating or cramping that is similar to the discomfort of menstruation. All these are common symptoms of early pregnancy, but not Finally, since only the fatigue or frequent urination, nausea or stomach cramps may be associated with a number of other health problems.
Identify the early stage of pregnancy the needs of his personal experience and other factors related to changes in the body. To confirm the accuracy and perhaps acceptance pregnancy test at home or in the doctor's office is still the best and easiest. This will help ensure that the symptoms of missed periods, breast tenderness, nausea, fatigue and the like are actually other pregnancy related and not just the effect of other health problems.

Signs of Pregnancy / The Pregnancy Test
What are the signs of pregnancy?
The signs of pregnancy vary from woman to woman. Usually the most obvious sign is the absence of menstruation (amenorrhea). However, some women continue to have bleeding even while pregnant. The following are the most common initial signs of pregnancy. However, each woman may experience the signs of pregnancy differently. These may include:
fatigue
sore and swollen breasts
nausea or vomiting (also called morning sickness)
frequent urination
certain food cravings or aversions
bloating of the abdomen
darkening of the skin around the nipples (also called the areola)
bluish-purple vaginal and cervical tissue, due to blood engorgement, which can be detected during a pelvic examination.
These early signs may not positively indicate pregnancy, but may actually signal another process occurring within the body. A pregnancy test can provide more accurate results.
What is a pregnancy test?
Pregnancy is confirmed with a pregnancy test. A pregnancy test can be performed on either urine or blood. Pregnancy tests detect the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin hormone (hCG), a hormone produced by the placenta about 10 days after fertilization. Levels of the hCG hormone approximately double every two days during the first 60 days of pregnancy. Pregnancy tests that are performed using the woman’s blood are done by a physician and are usually performed to obtain a very early diagnosis of pregnancy or also to confirm an at-home pregnancy test. Blood tests are very accurate and can detect pregnancy by the second week after conception.
Women can conduct an at-home pregnancy test by testing a sample of urine about two weeks after conception, or about the time a period is due. Home pregnancy tests have become more accurate in the last decade. If the test is used correctly, most home pregnancy tests are 97 to 99% accurate. It is recommended that users repeat the test in a few days, whether the result is positive or negative.
Always consult your physician to confirm a positive at-home pregnancy test with a more reliable pregnancy test and physical examination. If your at-home pregnancy test results are negative, and you think you are pregnant, you should also consult your physician.

What really are the accuracy of pregnancy tests?
So my friend thought she was pregnant and we did a First Response test and it came up that she wasn’t pregnant but nothing is adding up.
She has missed two periods and had…well…seven months of unprotected sex.
So now we are wondering…can the test be wrong?
I know they say they are 99% accurate…but based on what studies, you know? In my statistics class we learned all the ways to bend percentages around to make your product look reliable.
I’m asking…is there a chance that the test could have been wrong?
She should go to the doctor! I think she’s pregnant. They are 99.9% accurate but there are a few things that can throw off the test.
A few things to tell her:
First, your period might be late or missed due to some cause other than pregnancy. Missing a period is referred to as amenorrhea. Typically this is caused in women who are not pregnant by a hormonal imbalance of some sort, and the woman is not ovulating regularly. Missed periods can be the result of undergoing stress, which can throw off the normal balance of hormones in your body. Losing a significant amount of weight can also cause you to miss a period. Thyroid problems may also interfere with your menstrual cycle. Premature menopause may be a possibility in some women, although this is extremely rare.
Second, the test could show negative even if you are pregnant. A false negative can be caused by an early detection attempt. This occurs when your body has not yet started secreting enough hCG into your urine for the test to measure it. Erratic technique with the pregnancy test can also cause a false negative. This occurs when you either did not dip it well enough or did not get it properly into your urine stream. A false negative can also be caused by missing the reaction time on the test. A positive result may fade away on some tests if the test sits too long.
Tell your friend that if she wants to ensure the best results:
Take the test in the morning, if possible, because your hCG (pregnancy hormone) levels are at it’s highest
Don’t drink a bunch of fluids before taking the test because it will dilute your urine and can affect the results
Take the test no more than 1 day before expected period. Although some test say that you can see results up to 5 days before your missed period, the percentage of accuracy is very low.
urinate for as long as possible on the foam-like strip
Check the results in the window frame of time suggested by the instructions of the pregnancy test
