If you are hypoglycemic what would the reaction be at the pregnancy 1 hour glucose test?
I failed my 1 hour glucose test by 5 points. However every stink’n morning ever since then I have been having symptoms of low blood sugar- not high. Especially if I drink water. I sweat, feel weak, shake, feel dizzy, everything you get with low blood sugar. Nothing that you get with high. I’ve been this way my entire life- just first thing in the morning, especially an hour or so after eating- which makes no sense. My blood sugar has never been high my entire life- and pregnant or not my BP in the morning is normal, if not a little lower than my normal.
If I had fasted and then drank all that God awful drink would my otherwise low blood sugar be elevated in response? Or not?
I just cant make heads or tails of why on earth I would have failed the test… The only thing I can think of is that for a while before hand (a few weeks) I’d been eating completely different than usual- lots of starches and processed foods and cookies/chocolates.
anyone?
Your diet has made your body unable to respond to sugar, try to limit your starches and sugars for a couple weeks before your 3 hour.
Oh yeah, being hypoglycemic makes you at higher risk for gestational diabetes, you may just have gestational diabetes – play it safe and try to eat better then that.
